Historiana - we’ve recently collaborated with EUROCLIO to develop collections on some of history’s most infamous figures – including Stalin, Hitler, Joan of Arc and Queen Elizabeth. A special Search and Select tool makes it simple to find sources on some of history's most important themes in Europeana’s collections.

Inventing Europe - The European Digital Museum for Science and Technology have integrated Europeana content on the Inventing Europe platform. Our content has been organised in 6 virtual exhibitions and 40 virtual tours on various topics, and includes two lecture aids and 12 assignments using Europeana content.

Learning Resource Exchange - led by EUN, this resource enables European primary and secondary school teachers to find quality content educational material from a huge variety of open educational resources.

Digital learning resources

World War I: A battle of perspectives - a Multi-Touch book and an iTunes U course that features the unique WW1 content on Europeana 1914-1918. This interactive bilingual educational programme can be used to support history education in schools and by lifelong learners.


Art Faces - children between 5 and 10 years old can discover and learn about art while having fun, using 5 portraits from the Europeana collection. The app has been an instant success with a partnership already in place with a holiday children’s club in Fuerteventura and features on the Apple stores in multiple countries and categories. It has been downloaded over 4200 times!

Create - produce your own versions of the paintings from some of the best art work in the EU (from our Europeana 280 campaign), using your own photos as colour inspiration.
